Ebke charged with terrorist activities
YELLOWKNIFE -
German authorities have formally charged a former
resident of Yellowknife with taking part in terrorist activities in that
country in the 1980s.
Lothar Ebke, a Yellowknife businessman, was extradited to Germany in October.
He'd been living in Yellowknife since 1996.
A statement issued by German prosecutors says Ebke is suspected of
being involved in two separating shooting incidents in 1986 and 1987.
One of the victims was a court judge, the other a senior immigration
official. Both victims survived.
It's also alleged Ebke was involved with a bombing.
No trial has been set.
